Hello,i have a question about the Apollo 040,lately i´ve been having crashes after the amiga is on for a few minutes,my 040 does have fan,but i think that the FPU or the MMU might be malfunctioning.
So my question is,if the FPU or MMU are not functioning properly, will they cause crashes?
Can i remove the FPU and MMU cpu,and will my board still work? :-D

Most likely the problem is not the FPU or MMU as both are internal in the 68040 CPU :-)
Since you have propper cooling on the CPU then it can be caused by a power issue, or a software issue.
Which PSU have you got connected, and are there any other stuff connected to the computer? And have you made sure that only the 68040 libraries are present in libs:?

Both the FPU and MMU on an 040 are internal, so no way to remove them. Moreover, I dont think those two units should cause any problems, I would suggest to check your PSU if it is capable of suppling enough juice to the machine.
Try using a larger fan or some other way to cool the 040 and check if the crashes continue.

Yes,i have the mmu.library, the 68040.library that identifies the cpu and the fpu,i always thought that there could be a fpu.library, but i never found it.
Maybe it needs more cooling,as i´ve said before, the amiga runs smoothly until 30 minutes or so and then it hangs.
It made my HD unvalidated many times,it is a annoying! :-D
