hello all just picked up a PCMCIA CD ROM drive
can i use this in my amiga a1200?
if i plug it into the pcmcia slot on the amiga and goto prep card then it comes up with
product
ARCHOS
ARCDRIVE
Version 3.0
will this work??
-
Most likely it's this (http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/search.pl?product=overdrive+cd&company=archos) thingy. So, yes.
-
thanks
going to download the programs and try them now
will let you how i get on
-
its coming up that the files no good or do i need a program to open .dms files
the one i was using was lharc
-
Yeah, DMS files are disk images, not LHA archives. You can get programs from Aminet to deal with them (xDMS, for instance).
-
its unpacked to ADF format every time i try to use adf blitzer
i get :-
program failed (error #300000020)
wait for disk dctivity to finish
supend reboot
any ideas??

@2J4EZ:
Aye, that doesn't sound healthy - a quite ordinary application crashing, but you could always try writing it out with the original DMS (http://www.aminet.net/pub/aminet/util/arc/dms111.run).

hey, I have the same drive. it works a treat with a1200. the only problem is that it won't read multi session discs (you have to write disc-at-once)

whats the colour of your drive can u post a pic of it?
installed the drivers and now my os will not boot!
think the problem started when i installed magic wb icons it seemed to work before then now going to wipe my drive and clear the crap out of it
