Title: Amiga 1200 and Amig1200HD questions...
Post by: CodeHunter on June 22, 2005, 11:33:13 PM
Hi All,

How many version of Amiga 1200 are out there? What is the difference between Commodore Amiga 1200 and Amiga Inc. Amiga 1200?

What is the difference between Amiga 1200 and Amiga 1200HD? I was always under the impression that Amiga 1200 had HD installed from factory.

Can I trust these guys when they say "new" Amiga systems?

http://www.vesalia.de/?V02b0f15595f4e1773565c50520f514e01101f07435605551c4a0108515d324c536c352c2c6165693647097c6a2e653b781560646a60277829207f105e0a702c624515485

Do they sell Amiga 1200 by Commodore or Amiga Inc.?

Thanks!

Yes, A1200HDs are identical to the regular A1200s except they were fitted with a hard drive at the factory. Many dealers added hard drives to basic A1200s and thus, their machines don't have an official HD designation.

The Amiga Technologies A1200s have a different floppy configuration - they use a modified PC floppy drive since they couldn't source enough Amiga Chinon drives at the time of manufacture. The motherboards are slightly different to make use of them, but they can be modified to be identical to Commodore's boards. Amiga Technologies 1200s also shipped with OS3.1 by default.

As for the Vesalia offer, why don't you email them and find out? ;-)
