Title: Streaming webcams and Amigas
Post by: AmigaMance on June 19, 2005, 07:45:13 PM
Hi.
I have found several streaming webcams on the net that can not be viewed by WebVision (?) because they are the WMV/ASF kind. I've discovered that there was a stream by opening the network status window of AWeb and see the WMV file coming in.
So, my question is: Is it possible to view these cams using an Amiga?

I never found anything to view those extentions on the classic, but an A1/os4 can with mplayer. Would you mind giving me the urls so I can play? I'm using WebVision on my µA1-C. :pint:

Playing wvm files is not the problem for me. Froggerng can do it. My problem is how to view these streams. I think that copying the file to my HD and then view it with a movie player will not work, since a stream is constantly changing, right? Here is an example url: www.rwa.gr

I don't know about Frogger, but I think you can plug in a url into mplayer & stream from that. Time to get out the docs.
