Title: ext CD ROM DRIVE

hello just been to a car boot sale and picked up a ext cd rom drive.
if cost me 3quid its got cable that came with it.
it seems to plug in to the parallel port

would this work on the amiga a1200??

It seems? maybe its SCSI 25pin,s dont plug it into paralel port without check this

is there ment to be a link or some sort??
if there is then maybe its my end thats not displaying anything

windows is crap the quicker i get my a1200 online the better

it says on the back of it matsushita kotobuki model cr-562-t

manufactured december 1993 if this is any help

From a quick google, I think that's a 2x SCSI external drive.  Plugging it to the Parallel port (especially an Amiga parallel port) would be bad.  The device or an Amiga CIA chip could be fried if you plug it in that way.

It should work fine on an Amiga with a SCSI card, though.  For the A1200 there are numerous accelerator cards that have SCSI on them, and there is also the PCMCIA Squirrel SCSI that would work.
