Allo,
Just connected an iBook to the web, via my router (A1, Peg1 & iBook all surfing just now - nice!) and was wondering what AV or firewall software I should install.
Any tips aprreciated.
Cheers,
Robert.

Doesn't OSX have a firewall built in?
Check system preferences -> sharing -> firewall...

Yes, but it's not on by default.
There are also other options that can be enables such as stealth mode under Advanced.

Cheers guys.
I'd already found the built in firewall but wasn't sureif I should set up any other defences.
:-)
Getting to quite like OSX too.

I use virex (http://www.networkassociates.com/us/products/mcafee/antivirus/desktop/virex.htm)

I thought OSX was virus free? :-?

Just use the built in firewall and switch off any services you don't need (like Personal File sharing, FTP, WWW), then just not bother with Anti-Virus.
For the moment there are naff all virii about on the OSX platform to bother you (they do exist but only as proof of concept stuff I believe), the only reason you might want it is for filtering out Windows virii when you get them via email or in macros form with Word/Excel documents .. basically if you buy Norton Anti Virus for OSX it is to clean up Windows virii ... who cares! :-D

I use clamxav (free) to check files for Windows viruses that may make their way onto my Mac. Free and updated regularly. http://www.clamxav.com/

There are a few, not many though by any means, the most popular being the MS-Office Macro virus, which surprise surprise, can only happen if you install Microsoft Office on your Mac.
