Has anyone ever considered porting PuTTY to AmigaOS? I've played with the sources a few times to make my own tweaks, and it looks to be straight ahead C code that should be relatively easy to port.
I might even try it myself if I can find and get gcc to work...

Nice idea, what system would you be working on? Classic, OS4 PPC or linux cross compiler?

can't code so it'll be a no. but i have been wanting it for AmigaOS for a long time. The REALLY bad thing about it is that it doesn't support ZModem. :( I have seen a modified windows version that supported ZModem though.

It'd just be for classic since that's all I have. I've not done much in the way of network programming, or any gui based stuff in Intuition, but then it's basically just displaying text and transferring data... can't be *that* difficult. :-D

Yeah, right.... :-P
I working now to learn Reaction and GTK. In theory I will
be able to help port things from linux xwindows to Amiga.
That remains to be seen. But I do use and like putty.
It would be a nice addition if something similar isn't
available for AOS yet. I'm working out a doc now that I
hope will let others build a GCC cross compiler from mac,
windows or linux to help code. I'm already using it from
windows, I just need to get the instructions right to others
can follow. I think there's already instructions for GCC
on classics. If not, maybe I need to look there next. :-)
