First of all, Many thanks to everyone who took part in the Poll (http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=12896&forum=16) through various sites or emails.
The final UK map is now presented to you with final totals per regions. The number of ACTIVE UK amiga users in this poll is:- 245

On a serious note, I know I didn't take part in this poll (not intentionally, I only saw it in the last day or two and it seemed to be over then anyway) and there are 4 working amigas here...

Interesting result. Its a shame the figure is so small, if I was optimistic I would say you could double that figure for the amount of possibly interested Amiga users. Especially with the MAC going non-ppc and when OS4 gets released it *could* generate some interest (with the right apps).
Nothing wrong with being optimistic as long as you're realistic :-D
It would be interesting if we knew the figures for say Europe. Although I would have said the UK had one of the largest amount of Amiga users, who knows.
Surely, the likes of Eyetech, Hyperion, Genesi etc have had to do some market research even for a 'enthusiast' market?

I expect there's probably plenty TBH. I know a few people who are rarely inclined to take part in any kind of online poll.

Yeah well those people are probably the first to whine that they can't find x or y, won't attend amiga shows and to be honest do nothing positive towards the Amiga community.
As it says at the top, ACTIVE amiga users :-)
To paraphrase the great man himself, JFK, "Ask not what your platform can do for you, but what you can do for your platform"
And if they can't be bothered to vote by clicking on one tiny little button.....

My mate Toby has an Amiga and he lives on the Isle of Wight, but he doesn't use Amiga Forums... oh any my mate William, he now lives in Wimbledon with his little A1200...
And I've now got a 12" Powerbook G4.

Nah, I reckon Germany and the Netherlands probably have more than the UK.
Sweden seems to have a few too, just looking at the people here and on aw.net.

Yes, agreed, UK has gone from being second in the world for numbers of Amiga users, to third rate. As I said, I reckon sweden and germany now have more users. Not sure about Netherlands though

I dunno if that is entirely fair comment. The guys I know simply don't frequent forums in general. That doesn't mean they don't use or care about their machines. Also they don't moan about shows because they rarely know when/where they are since they don't frequent the forums to find out ;-)

They're just not particularly bothered about the web. One of the guys regularly betatests code for me in quite some depth but simply hates forums. I think he's been to a few shows though :-)

If you can get me exact addresses, I'll buy a truck load of wet kippers and go round to each and everyone of them
BTW, do these guys know that Commodore don't exist anymore? Do they know about AmigaOne/OS4??

Oh they know about the A1, OS4 and Pegsos/MOS. For one guy at least it was the nail in the coffin :-( He still has an A4K though.
Add one to London, and 2 to the NW (excluding me, whom I take it you already accounted for now) and that should be it.

Yep, totally agree and if you look, I said "the UK had one of the largest amount of Amiga users, who knows".
Basically, I would say the UK is in the top 5 of Amiga user bases. Kinda worrying when u look at those figures.. especially to Eyetech I would imagine.
