Seems like my ahi.device from the Mediator MM cd I got with my Mediator 4000 is non working or maybe it can be changed.
The filetype is "project" and not "tool", the AHi prefs program can't open the PPC Ahi device but the 68k ahi.device works if I copy it to devs so has someone got a working ahi.device (ppc) to share or a way to change my filetype so it works.
My the sound in some PPC games and Curse Of Monkey Island using ScummVM Wos are terribly choppy with the 68k version of ahi.device *whining* :-(
-
first of all, ahi.device doesn't have an icon (its a device)
Then, i never heard of PPC ahi.device (for Classic Amiga if not an experimental one, ages ago).
-
-
That's the MorphOS version. Don't use it as it won't work.
68k only for OS3.x, whether you have a PPC card or not.
-
i agee . . . and its why i have AHI 4.180 installed :-)
I'm not sure, if Mediator requires a newer version.
-
When you install AHI from the Elbox Mediator Multimedia CD you have two ahi.device to choose from during installation:
ahi.device-5.7-ppc
ahi.device-5.6-m68k
so I aint't talking mumbo-jumbo

@56h34
Odd that Elbox adds the MorpOs version on the Mediator MM cd? when Elbox Products aren't for Pegasos at all
-
no idea whats a mumbo-jumbo is.
What i know is that a PPC ahi device for Classic, doesn't esists :-D
-
Ancient version of MOS ran on the BlizzPPC and CyberstormPPC baords - maybe that's what the Installer is referring to.
-
The AHI installer is universal for MOS and 68k amigas, IIRC. The creator simply wanted to make things simple for himself and thus he included both devices in one archive. It's not very clear that classic Amiga users should not use the PPC version as it is for exclusive MOS usage, however Elbox couldn't do anything about it as that's how the AHI installer package comes by default.

Thanks foe clearing this up, guys :0)

Karlos . .. take a look at this:
http://www.lysator.liu.se/~lcs/files/ahi/beta/Obsolete/ahipre3.lha
PowerUP for 603 and 604.
Never managed to see it working.
Devs:
ahi.device.GEN-68030
ahi.device.GEN-68040
ahi.device.GEN-68060
ahi.elf.603
ahi.elf.604
Any idea how to install?
EDIT- just understood how:
rename the "ahi.device.GEN-68xxx" to "ahi.device"
rename "ahi.elf.60X" to "ahi.elf"
and slap both in Devs:

Hmm. I do remember trying this ages ago but seem to recall it was very unstable. I was also not sure if the 603 was even being used.
Did you try it yet?
-
yes, time ago with the same result of you :-)
