Title: A690?
Post by: R2D2 on March 13, 2003, 03:52:00 AM
Hi!

I just bought myself A690 CDROM-drive for A500. Does anyone know anything about this? I always thought the name was A570! So why is this one named A690? Is it some sort of prototype or something? Any difference between A570/A690?

Sounds like A570 and A690 are the same:

Hi
Did you e-mail me with the pictures of the A690?
If not there are two of these units which have just been sold.
The A690 is a prototype of the A570 but was also available to CATS developers.
There are differences in the two (On the PCB) but nothing major (Although it does have a battery which the A570 does not)

I can send you a pic of the main PCB and talk about the differences if you want. :-)
Also some A690's did look different (The early ones).
Where did you get the A690 from?
An owner of another A690 was on comp.sys.amiga-hardware a couple of months ago, you may be able to see his posts if you look.
