ok, after saying that i was no scener anymore it all occured to me that i should atleast try to pay abit of attention to it, but it seems pretty hard to find all the useable ppc demos around the net, i hope that this thread can make us all find ppc demos easier and make a list of whats out there and if its mESA or WOS or PUP.

anyway this is not a wHAT is the best ppc demo thread or anything like that, i would just like to know what i have missed or simmilar.
ONLY PPC demos should be in this thread, all others (like 68k) should be in a thread of its own...
If you add any here please include a link if possible so that i could find it....or atleast try.

Well MWI also made a PPC version of Amsterdam Blessing.
I found it at gfxbase.com (http://www.gfxbase.com). In their download section.

hehe :-) I'll have a look see what else I have once I have my Amiga back up and running, took it apart for cleaning today, and the crappy connection between the BPPC and Bvision is causing me nightmares as usual :-(

Kaminari: is that an ppc demo? , i have only found 68k versions of it (i think), do you know where i could find it? (searched everywhere)
the list is growing here, up in +38 demos/intros now, i will post a better list when they all are tested widely, as i have probs with some of the demos..like Amsterdamblessing pPC (and 68k) and that encore sulaco demo...

Venus Art was the first demogroup who made PPC-demos if I remember correctly. They have made 3-4 PPC demos. You didnt have any of those in the list.
Unfortunately I dont know/remember where to get em :(

It is a very cool idea Lempkee, I know I will be visiting :-), Even if I cant get a stable amiga up and running I would still go along. If I do get her running again, and you need any help just give us a shout :-)

All who had trouble with RTG demos on a P96 system (I'm talking
software render btw.) should try eg. MCP screenmanager functions.
I have the following sort of prefs (for five productions):
IF "AmsterdamBlsng - hirez"
TASK="mwi-amsb.exe"
WIDTH=640
THEN
DISPLAYID=50001000
IF "AmsterdamBlsng - lorez"
TASK="mwi-amsb.exe"
WIDTH=320
THEN
DISPLAYID=50021000
(Never mind the modeids, just pick 8 bit)
As you can see this and some other productions use two resolutions, so
there is a replacement mode set for each (equal to or higher than
the ideal resolution). I do know there are other perhaps more
elegant ways, I may not even need it myself currently.

thematic , good that you brought this up , since this doesnt work on my setup (voodoo), neither ppc or rTG.
Sadly i dont use mcp so i dont know how it would be possible for me to take advantage of what you said ;(
but i hope alot of more people read it as its some good tip!! ...
now if only i had some more ppc demos...

z5: u didnt answer to my email anyway.
but to clear up some mis info here, the wEBSITE i am doing is "ONLY" for PPC demos, and its not a ScrEENSHoT place its a place where you can find ALL ppc demos FAST and without getting info no one wants.
I like ADA but i it doesnt have the demos i need for now.
And eventually WHEN i have all demos i will TRY to make snapshots for your website, but notice i sAID "TRY" , anyway i am collecting for both of us, so no need to be mad or angry.
i will let u know in a week or something IF i have all demos and what demos to make snapshots of ...IF POSSIBLE ..as i told you before making snapshots of ppc demos is hard, for many reasons..atleast on a 603 setup. (because of the extensive cpu usage)

First demo for AmigaPPC was made by DecSix on Quast. It was rybkaPPC. They did it one night before party, so it is not so good as latests productions. They also have unrelased game for PPC, Vertep. A Vipeout-alike racing.

Lempkee: Maybe you could use an AGA mode for the demos and snapshot through the tv card window (assuming available cpu). Im not sure if its a solution, but if it is possable to snap the screenshots should still be acceptable when miniturised for online viewing.

Mad:yes i could, and i have tried... the quality of the shots (on the demos who was AGA and system friendly) was pretty dire and imho not acceptable, i will try some other things very soon.

well. i think i could get this demo as coder is my good friend. i think i have alos source code somewhere ;-) DecSix is dead. After 2 games and some demoscene activies. Game? Well, it's almost ready, but there is noone who will release it now. Amiga market, You know. We will port it to MorphOS if Pio (coder) will find some spare time as he's now working on some software in C# ;->

opi: great if u can get this demo for me,as i have looked everywhere...cant find it...
The game yes, well since i myself is a gamesdeveloper on amiga etc means i know the state and its not impossible to release a game, just contact the correct people , some advice is to contact APC-TCP or EPIC , they have both been very helpfull on this front, so dont think u cant get a publisher as its not that hard..its makeing money thats hard.... ;( ... looking 4ward to the game btw.

Creative Minds (Demoskope, Velocity) released their first demo at Mekka Symposium 2000 (3rd place) called "First awakening". I never found the file (not even on their homepage (Creative minds homepage (http://www.isengard.de)).
I don't know if it was ppc demo. Maybe yes, because their 2 next demos were ppc.

z5: yes i have seen it (at the mekka2000) but i havent seen the files anywhere and i was hopeing someone could help me find it.....shouldnt be too hard when i think of it...heh..

Z5:we shoukd try and find this one....but it seems damn hard...i dunno.
i have 62 out of 64 demos/intros now, hopefully more will come at breakpoint 2003 :)
about screenshots, sadly it seems some cant be done in any easy way...but i am still trying, the new grabber works great and picks pictures pretty fast but since i dont have a BVISION means i will have problems on getting 15bit mode demos/intros grabbed for you.
