how many devices can i put in oktagon 2008 ???
-
All scsi 1 and scsi 2 devices should allow 8 max devices on the chain. The controller itself counts as one device, so you can have connected to the Oktagon another 7 devices on the scsi chain, harddrives or cd-roms etc
-
also how much speed can handle the octagon , i am looking for a scsi cd rom , but i was wonder if 4 is ok or i should go for a 20x speed
thank for your time
-
1 think you can use any speed cdrom, oktagon can handle 5mb/s (i have 32x sony)
-
oktagon can handle 5mb/s
That I want to see. I never had any drive on an Oktagon reach more then 2,x MB/s. If you mean the theoretical maximum throughput of a ZII card in general you are correct.
-
I couldn't burn faster than 1x on Oktagon using '060 and IDE HDD (A4000) because of buffer underrun :-x

No, the max is 3.54 MB/s, in practice 2+ MB as some cycles go to housekeeping.

then i dont need more than x4 ?
how fast was cdrom in the the cd32 ??

2x

ye, i mean theoretical maximum of Zorro slot of course. t hing 2X or 4X cd-rom drives ale too old and crappy against something like this :-oo) (http://www.mercadolibre.com.ar/jm/item?site=MLA&id=16853464)
