Title: 1200 with external 3.5 IDE adaptor
Post by: XDelusion on June 06, 2005, 10:10:38 PM
I picked up an external IDE adaptor that lets me plug in my internal HD, then runs a 2.5 to 3.5 cable outside the 1200 for CD-ROM hook up. Now I am wondering if there is some sort of IDE Extender adaptor that allows you to mount and external IDE plug onto the back of the 1200, so that I don't have to open up my CD-ROM to detach it from my Amiga.

I made a cable to do just this - I sold it on ebay a week or three ago.

You can buy a crimp-on male 40 pin IDC header, a crimp-on female 40 IDC connector and a bit of 40 way IDC ribbon. Crimp it all together and dangle the male end out of the back of the case.
