Hello, i'm doing a program to make stop motion with my vlab motion videocard, it's controlled via infra red or joystick, work fine, but i have a problem here, i test with 2 different SCSI hd (1-SCSI 2 2-Ultra Wide SCSI) and i'm not able to playback never anything with the movieshop software, ever i have transfer problems, and stop of play in 10-12 frames aprox. i test all the buffer options, with no luck, only can use 1.2 mb/s using dinamic cache from phase5, but is not a solution. Anyone with the same config and with this card running fine? (i'm expecting 2mb/s with scsi almost). Thx

Overrun-Underran buffers error and such?
Out your step1 program, does the digitize/play stream works?
EDIT- just noticed that you are using a ZIV . . . mhhh!
I have only very old memories, about VLAB Motion.
The only thing i remember now, that's a nightmare to configure properly (ZorroII limitation, FIFO bla, bla problems, SCSI settings and right HDs- AV compliant)

yes underrun overrun and fifo related things :)
my program works of course but i'm improving it
:)

I always thought the card was ZIII only.
-
ehhhh . . . if the VLab Motion would have been ZorroIII, we would have had a little jewel.

15 mb/s sounds really cool :) but is not possible :(

Try another SCSI-cable and an active SCSI terminator. I have the same problem when I try to burn a CD. I have a Blizzard 1260 and a SCSI-kit.
If this doesn't help, you could consider an Powerflyer. Then you can have faster speeds like 16 MB/s and cheaper harddisks.

i test with another scsi cable, another hard disk and i have the terminator jumper in my hard disk also (it's my only scsi device plugged in the blizzard ppc)
i have also a power flyer ziv i have transfers with movieshop around 1.3 mb/s more=problems and eat all my cpu.
