Hello all i want to add a cd rom drive to my amiga a1200 desktop
i no what i need to buy but if i install it on my a1200 would i need a driver for the cd rom??
or do i just plug it in and turn the amiga
my Amiga is a standard a1200 with a hard drive and os 3.1

You will need a driver for it. Look up IDEfix on Aminet, it's all you need for software.

ok just downloaded it and going to install it on the amiga tonight hope it loads ok will let u no how i get on thanks for your time

just tried it on my amiga and i get "UNABLE TO OPEN YOUR TOOL 'INSTALLER' according to the readme i need amiga installer 1.4
do you no where i can get from? i did a search on aminet but nothing came up

Hum,
you could just install InstallerNG (http://installerng.light-speed.de/).
I have a version that i renamed INSTALLER in my C drawer.

ok ive downloaded it going 2 try it will let you no how i get on

just downloaded it and when i goto run it it reboots my amiga any ideas

but . . . you should have an Installer already!
Try to locate it in SYS:Utilities/ and copy it in C:
or download this
ftp://de.aminet.net/pub/aminet/util/misc/Installer-43_3.lha
and copy the executable "Installer" from the archive to C:
