Title: WOS problem
Post by: PPC on March 11, 2003, 02:49:41 PM
I am having a warp OS problem wich do not know how to solve.

WOS does work but not all my ppc programs work like WO2097 wich in the past have proven to be a very stable game.
But also other app's that use the ppc are not working either.
I deleted and reinstalled WOS (with the 5.1 upd)
With no effect at all.

I get the following ppc exeption:

PowerPC Data access exception (load operation)
Page fault - Access to FFFFFFD2
The excepting instruction is located at 45EEBC08
Task name: 'Background CLI_PPC7'  Task address: 450BA030  Task ID: 174

does anybody know what this means ?

hope you guys can help me out here.

Hmm. Not sure.

Do you have the correct address for your gfx card entered (assuming you have one)?

Try going to your bootmenu and setting the memory speed to 70ns.

In a CLI:

setenv PowerPC/EnAlignExc save 0

Then reboot.

If you want to run iFusion you are going to need to set it back to 1.

this is damn hard, i havent found any documentation on this , but its very simmilar to the one kennyr is reffering to (mem access , it might even be a broken simm)

but i am pretty sure that its the EnV: variables in your api (p96 or CGX ?) also, check your w3d settings.

and a final answer is , check how much FREE rtg ram you have , and games like wo2097 can run in single buffer mode , which means it wont "EAT" alot of ram, tripple buffer require 3x times as much Rtg ram (normally thats 6.6 megs on WO2097).

good luck

PPS: if you have a voodoo setup, u may send me a personal note for a bit more specific info)
