I have read a few posts about clockport adapters for the Amiga 500 such as the adapter for the 68k slot. I am interested in more info on these adapters or any clock port devices that will work directly with the A500. I also read reference to individual computers, but don't see such a device on their web site nor on any manufactures site for that mater. Were are these mysterious devices? Finally what device that have drivers will work with them? Oh, what the heck is a clock port anyway? I asume it’s an connection built into 1200 series Amiga.
TIA
:-)

You have to email Jens Schoenfeld directly (the adaptor is not listed on the products page). Go the the www.ami.ga site and tell him you'd like one of the clockport adaptors for the A500. He told me it was a limited production run (I think just to see if it could be done) and works with the Silversurfer. There are two clockport headers on the board but I don't know what clockport cards will work with them other than the Silversurfer.

Cool, thanks for the info. Would be nice if the xsurf could connect to it to network with a pc ala broadband.

@bloodmoney
Also it might allow you to add USB 1.1 and 2.0 ports to the Amiga 500...............it certainly works on the A1200 and A600.
You will probably need a 68030 processor or faster.

Got a 68040 1 gig scsi and 8 megs on my 500 via GVP. But only have 1.3 rom

The X-Surf is a Zorro Card. AFAIK there are no clockport Ethernet cards.

It would almost certainly have to be an accelerator which replaces the 68000 on the A500 motherboard. I doubt a GVP A530 for example would work!

Don't you mean 68030 (GVPA530)? There was a 68040 board made for the A500 (check Big Book of Amiga Hardware), but I've never seen one myself.

Remember that :-D Read a round up of accelerator cards in an old Amiga Shopper magazine (man I missed that when it went out of circulation). It was a 33MHz 68040 with kickstart 2.05 on it and seemed huge. It cost an absolute bomb at the time but must have been the ultimate A500 ego extension :-D

There's no reason why it wouldn't work, all the signals needed for the adapter are still active on the 68000 socket.

Yes Argus, it is an A530turbo GVP impact series II
CPU is 40 MHZ Motorola 68ec030. It was the 40 MHZ that had me thinking of 68040

@Bloodmoney
Still respectable 40MHz 68030.
btw, nice business card....

Thanks, Argus :-)
Wasn't the 500 the best selling Amiga model?
Seems like hardware venders would want to produce more stuff for it.
