>Pegasos & STB Market
Hi
There is a new market for large size "LCD Wall" + touch screen product that function as TV, decoration, security centre etc.
Behind the giant LCD/Plasma, there is a full function slim computer case with hard disk, CD/DVD driver, PC Card, ethernet / wireless etc
The price range from US$ 3000 to US$ 10000 (Plasma).
Is it possible to use AmigaOne motherboard for this application?
Is it better to use Embedded PC boards?
Perhaps there will be subscription service for supplying the contents (ie streaming pictures, art pictures, breaking news, stock/ forex ticker etc).

Thats no market, TOO EXPENSIVE!

>Too Expensive
Small desktop model cost US$ 150. Large desktop model cost approx. US$ 500 (12 Inch LCD). But it is difficult to fit A1 board behind the small digital frame, unless Eyetech can create small SBC (single board computer) version of A1.

Hi,
I've own a multimedia company that does this sort of stuff using TV/LCD screens, etc. I do agree that it's expensive and many of these LCD/Plasma type companies have closed up due to costs. We can do it on an A1, but only when it's delivered with OS4. We are currently doing this with a PC.
The only success we are having is with screens that are 20m in lenght and in shopping malls. We do boast two of the biggest coin operated video jukeboxes (maybe in the world) and that's using the same concept.
We will be transfering this stuff to Amiga soon. We have however tried this with Amithlon, but with no luck due to video card problems with Amithlon.
Give me a shout at yusufn@metrofile.co.za for more info if you do need some.
