Title: One Amiga Users Vision For The UK
Post by: mick_aka on May 08, 2005, 05:47:27 PM
Hello all, my name is Mick Hayes, i have been an avid Amiga user since 1992 and i am attempting to create a national database and usergroup of all UK amiga users.

Im looking for support on this project and it would be great if you could all sign up at: http://amigauser.webdare.com/

I have high hopes for this humble little site, I am already investigating venues for a good sized amiga event in the midlands during 2006 assuming enough members are signed up.

The amiga changes the face of computing forever and there is little else i am so passionate about, so please show your support and love for this system by joining up.

Joining is completely free and as soon as i have completed the site and got settled all members will recieve a membership pack and membership card.

I am also looking for trustworthy voulenteers to help develop the website and moderate the forum.

Thatnk you all for your attention.

Many thanks, Mick Hayes.

Nice vision, though I don't know if there's enough momentum for this right away ... at least not on the scale you envisage.

Perhaps a good first move would be to get an up-to-date list of all the practicing Amiga clubs, get something put into Total Amiga, and get some representation at Amiga shows like the Big Bash (#3 is now sceduled for near the end of September BTW, check Amigaworld).

Sounds like a good idea, and well done to you for taking this on, I hope this works out well.

I have just signed up!

I like the Idea, I wish there was something like this in the U.S.

I live out in the sticks and when I go to town, I'd always wonder if the person passing me on the street may be a fellow Amigan.

Just had a thought, perhaps I should lobby my Senators to tack on the creation of a "National Amigan Database" to a military spending bill... just like the new "Real ID Act".
