Does anybody know if there is a comprehensive list of all the
software on the amiga that uses the PAL screenmodes?
-
Personally I dont know............thought that would be nice.
But there is a Command Called NTSC4NTSC, that forces PAL programs to run in NTSC mode on NTSC Amigas..........there is also a PAL version that enables NTSC software to run in PAL mode on PAL Amigas.......called PAL4NTSC I think.
Try both...one will lead you to the other somehow....................I am able to Run Klondike and Klondike 3 in NTSC Mode thanks to NTSC4NTSC yeeehaw!
Also Elastic Dreams in NTSC mode

Personally, I think this (http://www.aminet.net/package.php?package=util/misc/Degrader.lha) is the best program for compatibility out there.
It can switch to PAL or NTSC, fiddle with chipmem, boot floppies, caches, and loads more. It can be run from shell or Workbench and can be made reset resident. I've used it for more than a decade - absolutely essential software.
Makes PAL/NTSC compatibility a non-issue.

@Matt_H
Matt, I think Degrader is a good program to have.........but it does not do what NTSC4NTSC does...........wich is keep your machine in NTSC mode, while displaying PAL screens without putting your machine in PAL mode.............which means you can display everything on an NTSC TV all the time.............Plus with Degrader, you have to reboot everytime you want to make a switch (Annoying) I think Degrader is only good for games....and some old floppy programs that only run from floppy.
NTSC4NTSC can be removed easily and you never have to reboot.
I think NTSC4NTSC is To Degrader........what WHDLoad games are to Floppy games.

Hmmm... the abiliy for NTSC4NTSC to display everything on an NTSC-only monitor sounds like a nice feature.
The same can probably (?) be done with Degrader by playing with the 50Hz and 50HzSystem options. I've always had my Amigas running through a NTSC/PAL monitor, so I've never had to force compatibility on that levelk. You don't need to reboot to make Degrader take effect, though - the SurviveNoReset option will kick in your settings instantly.
