Hi All,
I just got an Amiga 4000 Tower. I have transfered over my Cyberstorm
MKIII card and PicassoIV card etc without any problems. I had it all
in My A4000 desktop before putting it all into the new A4000T.
Now I remember seeing something about the A4000T needs a seperate
install of OS due to the chips having / or not having room for a
certain file? Is this right?
Do I need to re-install 3.9 on the A4000T, as all my stuff was done on
my A4000D, however it all works well and my system is great!
Any help is much appreciated...
thanks

the A4000T ROM's are different, they dont include 'workbench.library'
i dont know about 3.9, but when installed 3.5 it did not install the workbench.library
so i had to copy it accross from the original A4000T 3.1 installation disks
the A4000T installation disks ARE different from other 3.1 disks

I think OS 3.9 includes workbench.library
When installing it, you should do it by installing over a fresh install of A4000T WB 3.1 anyway.
The OS 3.9 Boing Bag 1 has a bug that caused the machine not to boot (I think it was a SCSI controller conflict).
I reported this and it was fixed in Boing Bag 2.

if you have any problems booting with it, just ask me
i have plenty of experience with the A4000T, and i know about some of its weird quirks...
:-)

I, also, have had some pretty weird experiences with an A4000T.
Drop me a line & I'll try to help out.

Thanks for the replies. My A4000T is booting and running smoother then
ever. I checked the libs: and I have the workbench lib there. So I
guess if its all working then I will simply leave it alone.
Thanks again

If you have a picture of it, would you poste it here or somewhere else on the net?
Do you have the Escom one or the Commodore Amiga 4000T?

A Commodore 4000T would be a cool find.

I have an A4000T (last version made), they are fantastic machine..
seeing someone posted that they know everything about the A4000T, can they answer my quirky problem...
on cold boot only i get 80000025 080022EE guru
anyone know what that means?
someone told me its the following which does not really help : -
Apparently, something has killed the cpu (library initialising default perhaps).
As it was the first boot sequence the card was unable to continue and chose
suicide ;^)
forcing you to reboot your amiga to get proper init.

Yes I have a brand new ESCOM/Amiga Technologies version.
It arrived brand new in the box!
