"transfer 6.7 gigabytes of data -- the equivalent of two DVD movies -- across 6,800 miles in less than a minute. "
"The team was able to transfer uncompressed data at 923 megabits per second for 58 seconds"
So that means that if they transmitted it at 923mbps it took about 7 and a half seconds!
-
Ah, just realised it says "uncompressed" :-)
-
Now...we all want to know what kind of data it was...
"...the equivalent of two DVD movies..."
errmmm...probably: P0RN !!! :-D

When I grow up, I would also like to be able to say "my internet connection is faster than my hard drive".
:-)

Lorddef:
You are confuzing megabit and megabyte.
Bit is normally shortened with b and byte
with B.
114 MByte/s x 8 ~ 900mbit.
-
Lol.... fast.... :-)
