Another ebaY id10t in action. Check this auction out. He has been trying to pawn off his A600 for the last year for hundreds of $$. I contacted him a while back asking if he still had it and if he was willing to reduce the price. No go, he wanted like $300 for it! Check out the shipping charge on it!

I like the $50 'handling charge' for the local pickup option!

Hi T,
You are not going to believe this! I got an email from him today stating he wanted $200.00CDN for it!
This is a PC/Mac/Sun chop shop - they have absolutely no idea what the machine is worth let alone what to do with it. I have personally been to this location and noticed he's had Amigas from time to time, but it's anybody's guess what the price will be tomorrow. I had been quoted $50 on the same machine over a year ago!

Totally hilarious!!!
:roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:
What a toss pot!!!
Edit...BTW, I wouldn't call it a scam as such as he has clearly stated his P/H fees, albeit excessive, I would only call it a scam if he quoted these prices at the end of the auction.

This sounds like a place down the street from me. They get a bunch of old unix machines in on palettes. They take them all apart and charge stupid prices for the stuff. The shop looks like a giant computer junkyard.
Last time I went they had a bunch of old faded yellow 19" NEC monitors with $120 stickers on them.

Hello,
Their shop is about 15 Minutes away from where I work.
I'll try to check them out some time.

I remember about a year ago, when I saw this auction originally, I asked if it would be OK to pick up if I were to win it, and the guy wanted $20 as the handling charge. I think that this A600 had a starting bid of about $70 to $100 USD at the time. Of course, no one ever bid on it. I also asked if he tested it out, and his answer was "No power supply. Keyboard only". LOL, what kind of an answer is that? I guess it must be DOA, or at very best just untested.

There's a lot of french speaking Canadians outside of Quebec, but perhaps not as much as there should be. :-)
The seller from the a600 auction is Chinese, btw. :-)

Hey, if you don't want the guy to place it in a box, you have to pay for that right!
Amazing that he thinks it's worth that much. Guess he'll be the happy owner for many years to come at that price... Sounds like a basic machine, which isn't even worth his "handling fee" to most of us.

Hi,
To be totally honest, there might be a language barrier there. They get alot of interest in an item and think that they can jack up the price when they have absolutely no concept of what it is they're selling. They also have a nice Commodore PC10 if you're interested.
Hey, alot of us can parlez Francais when we need to, and there are TONS of good Amiga users in Quebec!
