This is the auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5190539420)for 128 MB RAM SIMM 72-PIN - FPM RAM - 66 MHz - 5V - 60ns - Parity modules. I offer four of these but I have got plenty of them in stock for the time being. The price I ask includes Ebay charges and PayPal charges and the items will be sent by Prior mail and not by economy :-)
I also have another similar auction with different pricing (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5189444395&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1) but those who can count will see that the price at the end is exactly the same
-
So er...basically with the other one y'r dodging ebay fees :-P.
-
Odin : depends from what point you want to use the word "dodging" when you look at this auction to compare it with (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=98928&item=8187936272&rd=1)

Effy is the official distributor of 128MB memory modules for Blizzard accelerators. He bought a licence from haymiggan at the beginning of the year. :-)
-
Now that you mention Haymiggan, I just decided to visit his website and found myself being logged onto a Danish website ... in Danish of course
-
I ask 36 euro or 25 GBP for one module, shipping to any place on the planet included, no PayPal charges and Ebay costs are also mine. If somebody would like to save money by buying it outside Ebay then naturally I don´t have to add Ebay charges, so then it´s minus 2 euro or minus 2,5 USD. If somebody in the European Union can transfer it to my bank account then I also don´t have to add the PayPal charges so then it´s also minus 2 euro or 2,5 USD :-)
-module bought on Ebay and paid by PayPal : 36 euro or 46 USD
-module not bought on Ebay but paid by PayPal : 34 euro or 43.5 USD
-module not bought on Ebay and paid by bank transfer : 32 euro or 41 USD
In all of the three choices I end up having the same which is 32 euro from which I also have to pay the shipping costs of course
-
To add a tiny sense of humor to reality I decided to post my auctions about 128 Mb modules again
THIS is the Ebay link (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6785707247) to one auction and for those who prefer another currency there is THIS auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6784389964&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1), not that those two are different of course
-

How the hell can the above be true??? So you do charge PayPal fees, it´s just included in the price. I wouldn´t call it no PayPal fees then.
-
Very well noticed on that advert of three months ago and I did write "The price I ask includes Ebay charges and PayPal charges and the items will be sent by Prior mail and not by economy", but meanwhile I dropped my price to 32 euro or 22 GBP shipping included. I found out the good side of PayPal months ago when I got a payment from Australia to my bank account. The buyer had to pay 20 euro to his bank and from the money that was transferred my bank also kept 20 euro ... so that´s when I stopped charging for the use of PayPal, even if it costs me 4% ...
Besides Doctorq, I find in your advert about the Blizzard PPC " +5% (PayPal fee) paid to my PayPal account" I don´t blame you for asking that, PayPal is far from free, it´s just that people don´t like that extra´s are added on top of the selling price :-) Besides, does PayPal really charge 5% ??? :-?
-
Yes, I normally say +5% for PayPal fees on the items I sell. The reason is simple, PayPal is not free as you mention, and as I see it, it shouldn't cost me money to sell an item, hence the 5% extra. People can pay to my bank account instead, but then they still would have to pay extra because of the reasons you mention in the range of 20-25 EURO and they loose their PayPal buyer protection or what it is called. Still PayPal is cheap than bank transfer.
PayPal doesn't charge 5%, but their calculations in my oppinion are wierd. A start price, and then a percentage of the amount to a certain level, and then a different percantage for the next level IIRC.
I decided a long time ago that I wouldn't want to waste my time on calculating PayPal fees, because then I would have to do it once again in case I lowered the price on the item. So now you know why there is a 5% add on to my items.
If buyers bails on a deal because of an extra 20 EURO at max, I take it they aren't seriously interested in the item anyway, and then I'd rather not deal with these people.
Hope this is enough answer to your question.

Thought i would jump on the bandwaggon. Check out Item number: 8205504918 on ebay for yet more 128MB modules!
-
doctorq : yep, that qualifies as a good answer

Decided to sell more 128 Mb modules at THIS Ebay link (http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&item=300014955059&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1) for the lower price of 13,49 GBP or 20 Euro as it seems like prices are dropping on the market
-
So these don't fit in a 1260 without removing the door and putting blocks under it? Or do they fit with the elastic band trick?
Mark
-
Hi Mark, I haven´t tried them yet in an 1260 but I know very well that to fit them on an 1230/4 you need to remove the trapdoor and lift the A1200 a little bit because the memorymodule is too big

Though many eBay sellers add a charge to cover their fees, it should be integrated into the selling price. They shouldn't quote the price then ask for an additional 4% or whatever to cover their payments to PayPal. This rule doesn't apply to credit card payments though.
Here's what eBay/PayPal say on this. (http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/listing-surcharges.html)

I know, I have seen many auctions where the seller asks an extra 4% or 5% for the use of PayPal, so that´s why I calculate it in my price :roflmao: Sometimes I offer those modules at AmiBench but a little bit cheaper than on Ebay as this seems only fair to me :-D
-
This should be EASY, from some reason sellere think they can fool ebay, fool the buyer or fool them selfs.... why would you have two autions with differnt prices, that just MADNESS
1, put the buy it now or reserve at what you need to cover you expenses
2, simply put the item up for actuion!
3, NEVER try to get cute by hidding costs!
4, emoticons are cool but not that cool.... CHILL
5, does you ram work with phase 5/DCE or GVP 060's?
seriously cool it with the cleverness, it's NOT profsesional.
Think about it you go into a shop pick something up walk to the register they add %5 ofr rent! Just tell us the price and deal with the fact that you a seller... that SUPPOSED to be harded than buying.... If you can please try to keep it to one emoticon per post.... yes I can see you are happy but it looks more like you smoked some crack.

Pierre : I sell the same modules sometimes on two places because there is often a difference of 9%. When somebody buys something from me that I listed on Amibench then there´s no extra cost for me for listing it and no extra cost for me when it gets sold. When we talk about an object with a selling price of 100 Euro then this means that Ebay will not receive 5 Euro and when the payment is not done by PayPal they will not see 4 Euro. So that means if I sell an object on Ebay for 100 Euro that it is the same price as when I would sell it on AmiBench for 91 Euro  I don´t see why this is so hard to understand, or is it ? If I go to a seller and buy a stereo then I know that the price includes taxes, and when I buy it from a private person then I can have it cheaper because I don´t have to pay taxes. The only disadvantage is that I don´t have any official guarantee when I buy it from a private person ... same object, different price ...
About your GVP 4060, I assume this is an A4000 board, I think it can only accept a maximum of 4 modules of 32 Mb, just like the Cyberstorm boards.
About me and smoking crack, don´t worry, I don´t smoke and I don´t booze, I just try to take life not to seriously
-
I don't think you actualy smoke crack. The emoticons just make you appear hyperactive.
I still think that it silly to mess about with prices they way you are talking about. If you sell on eBay deal with it. I perfer to buy on eBay because there is a track record. I'm not that found if paypal but it works for me. Just post you price clearly, don't hide it in the shipping and handeling and I won't complain. I guess there is nothing anybody can do if you want to offer a better deal on amibench....fine. Just realize that consumers are reading this wonder if this is legit (it looked like you where bending eBay policy), or why it should take a paragraph to explain the priceing "scheme"...
I don't take life that seriously either but when it comes to my money I perfer a serious person on the other end.
I think you are right about the gvp 4060 boards...

Alternatively, you could buy my 128mb modules

Yuk! I wonder why photos of skin allergy and acne need to be published in an auction about computer RAM. :-?
Or would you agree to swap the RAM for some clear skin lotions?

Do 128MB SIMMs work on Apollo 1240 cards???

Do 128MB SIMMs work on Apollo 1240 cards???
No, maximum of a stock Apollo 1240/1260 is 32MB. (64MB with additional SIMM socket)
-
humppa : actually that skin you are referring to belonged to my ex girlfriend which was way over 16. Yesterday I begged my new girlfriend to let me take some pictures of her instead but she didn´t know what to answer
-
Hey effy, is any of these SIMMs a 50ns one? I know that they are ultra rare but i was just wondering.
-
No, they are 60 ns. I can only dream of 50 ns 128 MB modules and have no clue if they exist or not, at least not in 72 pins format. I know very well of 128 Mb 50 ns EDO modules but they seem to be 144 pins ...
-
Ok, thanks.
-
Still have got plenty of 128 Mb FPM RAM - 66 MHz - 5 Volt - 60ns - Parity modules for sale for 21 Euro or 14 GBP, shipping worldwide from Europe to Australia included.
