Title: All hail the wayback machine ...
Post by: Holley on April 24, 2005, 01:26:01 AM
Ok, we've all had a go at the wayback machine and laughed at some of the rubbish we used to look at ... but today I had a bit of a brainwave.

Now back in the day I used to like the ads for Power Computing in the mags - they had nice pics etc, the specs, and one could dream 'oh, if only I didn't have to pay for food I could afford this that and the other' ... anyway, I figured I'd go time-travel window-shopping, and ended up HERE (http://web.archive.org/web/19971012181830/www.powerc.com/productsa.html).

My wife started getting a little worried when I started growling, squinting and drooling ... but then she saw it was just me looking at Amiga stuff

I bought my first A1200 accellerator from Power.. When They were round by the park.

Parked my artic and ran over to em.

Later bought 3 epson flatbed scanners from em...  Family was so impressed with mine they asked me to pick them one up each.

( That was from their new premises)

Looking at those prices on that link they dont look too bad.. Till you realise our wages have gone up substantially since then !!

It's just the whole range and availability that got me - that list is from '97, when plenty of people were saying the Amiga scene was dying.

If you go up a level there's stuff like the old ad for Breathless and stuff ...
