I posted recently about a mouse adptor to use
a PC mouse on my A3k. They recomended I check
Software Hut......... (wow they are expensive)
I would like to replace the A3k mouse with an
Optical Mouse and also An adptor to use a PC
(windows) keyboard, save my origonal KB.
Anyone know where they have these adptors
at a better price?? I don't know how they can
justify the prices they are asking ($40 per).

It is not just an adapter but there is lots of electronics in there and they sell only very few of them so that's the reason why they are so expensive. German dealers sell the TopolinoIII (PS/2 mouse adapter) and the Lyra (PS/2 keyboard adapter) for about 30 Euros (32 US$) each.
Perhaps you should consider buying a Highway USB controller for about 100 Euros (110 US$) and use standard USB keyboards and mouses and other hardware (e.g. flashcard readers, ZIP drives, digital cameras etc.) from now on.

There's a problem of logic here. The Amiga's mouse actually had little logic in there, the Amiga itself decoded the signals into position-placement. PC mice send byte-signals down a serial line, and the CPU has to then first arrange them back into usable signals *then* decode the result. Means that a PC's mouse doesn't work like an Amiga's mouse. You need to make a logic chip to do the work that the CPU used to do in the PC and then translate that to the Amiga.
