Has anyone seen this (http://www.commodore.nl/site/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=4&tabid=702&bix=4&bid=5&itemIDS=18&ModID=2) press release? Has this been mentioned before? I couldn't find it in the forums and there is no date (that I can see) on the press release stating when it happened.
The site of the company (Yeahronimo) they sold it to is here (http://www.ymvinc.com/).
:-?

I did see that announcement around here a while ago, but, sorry, I don't recall when or where.

Sometimes I feel like Rip Van Winkle. I must learn to be more observant. Any question on what the new owners are doing with the Commodore stuff?

Based on the different info scttered across their (YMV's) website, I'd venture a guess that they are not too sure what thier going to do with it.
Tulip's site shows mp3 players with the PET and Vic monikers. Maybe YMV is going to carry that into the video market with a C128 DVD player.

Honestly....Where have you guys been? :-D
This is old news!!!! Like 6 months or more right.
Yeahronimo bought the Commodore name for about 20 million dollars right? And they are paying it off over an amount of years. Yeahronimo have something like iTunes......ie an online media selling outlet. Apparently they're pretty big.
Ok...Now if only AmigaInc would talk to them they could change their name to Commodore and be done with it.
Ok. Going back to my happy place now.

So Commowhore was sold to yet another company. Who cares. There's nothing important about Commodore anymore. The engineers are not there, the technology is gone so who cares?

I have seen blank CDs here with the Commodore name on them... :-P

I bought some Commodore CDr`s over here in the Netherlands. There 52x and reliable, I have`nt had a bad burn yet. Still, It`s only a name and a far cry from what Commodore used to be.

Purchase of COMMODORE brand complete with TULIP Computers and Yeahronimo Media Ventures Inc. (OTC:YNMO) reaching final agreement (2005-03-28)
Found on Yeahronimo's site. Apparently that's when it was announced at least.

I too missed that news.
Too bad it will never be what Commodore used to be.
I don't really care though. I have my C64c, C128, and the breadbox C64 and im still rocking with them! :-D
As long as they work, I don't mind what becomes of the Commodore brand name. :-)

Hi,
Commodore is not the great company it once was. It's been butchered and beaten into something unrecognisable now.
