are these newer amigas from escom (Amiga magic pack) any good? or junk?
-
I got the last A1200 Magic Pack to be sold in Dundee in 1997. It wasn't the HD version though.
The A1200 is still in working order (although it has the floppy fix and a proper Amiga floppy drive now) with BPPC/BVision now :-)
--edit--
I think it's a revision 1D4 board.
-
hmm i have no idea if this one has the fd fix.
did they come with 3.1 roms?
-
These are the best A1200.
The newest manufactured, with kickstart 3.1 - and very easy to modify to be "commodore - compatible".
-
Yep, they all came with 3.1 Rom...

are you sure? how do you mod the fd?
-
Yep, i am sure..:-)
Just look at this thread how to modify the main board. (Thank you Jens..:-)

You could now replace the floppy with a "commodore" floppy if you want.
Or modify the "Escom" floppy.
All you have to do is to make sure that you now have ready signal on pin 34 and DC on pin 2.

thanks!
and even the early escom 1200's have 3.1 roms (v40.xx)?
-
Yep!
-
cool!
thanks again, i think i might get that amiga then, although its untested coz its got no psu!!!
-
ALL Escom 1200s came with 3.1 ROMs :-)
-
fantastico! that means with a memory upgrade i can run OS3.9 right?
-
I have a Escom A1200 internal diskdrive and I put in a A2000 rev.6.2. The drive works without problems.
I have 2 A1200 one from Commodore and the other from Escom. Both have a rev 1.d.4 mainboard revision.
