due to a upgrade to my BLIZZPPC,the following processors will be for sale in two weeks.
2x xc68060
1x xc68060ec60 hence. this processor may have a fault in the FPU..
-
@delshay
The 68060 EC doesn't have an FPU, does it?
-
thats what I thought.. 060EC was no MMU or FPU
-
@TheMagicM
That might explain why it wasn't working ;-)
-
Actually, thinking about it I have a dim memory that some 68060s were sold as EC parts if their FPU or MMU failed at the clock rate they were aiming for. I could be wrong mind.

the XC68EC060RC60 has a FPU & MMU..but im not sure if its working correctly
sometimes when i load quake I, it comes up with a fault ( not always)..
i thing the pins are not making proper contact with the socket as im get a the same fault with MC68060RC66E..
-
@delshay:
Ever considered the possibility that it might be a software-only issue? ;=)

@karlos
the XC68EC06RC60 has a MMU & FPU
its **not** software for the MC68060RC66E..ive got two..
im useing one to type this works fine with quake..
the other i have to move around the socket ( ie ) i cant push it all the way in the socket,if i do the machine will not even boot..
put the chip half way in & it boots fine..but quake shows fault the same applys to the XC68EC060RC60..( CORRECTION ) diffrent fault for both processors..
iv not got them plug-in at the moment..
the MC68060RC66 processor came back with something like ( reach the end of something..& quake crashed.
