I have a A600HD computer. When i turn it on it comes up with the disk going into the floppy .... 2.0 Roms (37.350). If i play around with the 2 Amiga keys and the Ctrl key it sometimes boots from the hard drive. WHAT IS THE SECRET.

Welcome to A.org :-D
This is a common problem on 3.0 machines like mine. Basically, the Amiga boots without giving enough time for the HDD to spin up. It cannot detect it, and therefore asks you for a disk, but if you do a soft reboot, the drive is detected and then boots - its more of an annoyance than a real issue. I've no idea if this problem can occur with other kickstarts, and if there is a different reason maybe someone could update the FAQ I wrote here (http://www.amigacentre.co.uk/cgi-bin/wiki.pl/Hard_Drive_equipped_Amiga_doesn't_boot)?

Happens with all kickstarts. 3.1 has got a larger delay but still the problem can occur.

If you cut line 1 of the IDE cable, you can get round this issue.
