Title: Amiga1 and MicroA1 Linux Audio Problem
Post by: asian1 on March 29, 2005, 01:39:15 AM
Hi
I read this review of Amiga1 & Linux Debian from AmigaWorld.net:

======================================================
(the A1 G4-XE sports the VIA VT82C686 chip, but I cannot get it working using ALSA or OSS.

If you had managed to get sound out of it, you would have been worthy of a Nobel-prize.  As it is, it will never work. For reasons I won't go into now.
======================================================

Is there any new bug free Linux audio driver for Amiga1?

What about Linux audio driver for MicroA1?

Is the audio driver for MicroA1 really works?

There's something wrong with the onboard sound on the XE. I don't know what the details are. Apparently, finding a fix for it has been forgotten. I would like to see some work done to repair it - I'd much rather ditch my Soundblaster card and free up the PCI slot since I don't do heavy duty audio work.

Sound under Linux works fine with a soundcard on the XE, and the onboard sound of the MicroA1 is fully operational. Don't know which specific driver to use under Linux, but I'm sure it exists.
