Hi,
I have an A4000 and the floppy drive doesn't seem to work. You insert a disk, the light goes on, it tries to read the disk and just returns to you: DF0:???
I opened the A4000 and the floppy drive and cleaned the heads, but still no-go.
Are there any sites/documents/programs that you guys can suggest that I can look at to try to figure out if it's just a bad floppy?
BTW, I still haven't swapped it for a working-external low density floppy, but will do soon to see if the problem is the actual unit or the floppy controller.
thanks in advance
PS. replace those SMD (surface mount devices) caps on your A4000 !!! the one close to the battery went bust on me and the migy would just come up w/ a green screen complaining about my chipRAM !! Replaced the capacitor and everything is sweet now!
The A3640 v3.1 SMD's are next.
