I'm in great pains because I do not know how to decide.
I basically want a desktop 1200 connected to a vga montor through a scandoubler. Tower solution is out of question because I don't want it to remind me to PC.
So I have two desktop amigas in mind (and of course I'm open for new solutions if sugested):
A1200 + 1260 Apollo (060@66Mhz) plugged to a vga monitor through a scandoubler
and
A1200 + PPC 200Mhz 040@25Mhz with BVision and AGA internal scandoubler both plugged to a vga cable switcher connected to one vga monitor.
I need an amiga running OS 3.9 (because of new icons), I want it to render workbench nicely and then I would just click on a nice game icon and play whdload games. This is what I'm planing to do with this amiga besides it being an ornament in my living room.
Now which amiga to choose? Here are my concerns:
1. Would be 1260 solution better because of no heating problems as in PPC solution? Is this right?
2. How much noise make three coolers in a small desktop a1200 in PPC solution?
3. How much 256 color AGA display is slow for OS 3.9 and all those nice whload game icons I want so badly? I think this could change my mind from 1260 and make me go for a PPC with bvision.
Thanks to all!

If u want to run AGA games then u want the Apollo 1260
If u want to run Workbench in 256 colors then u want the Bvision.
So now u hafta buy both of them :-D

040,PPC and BV in a desktop-case is the worst setup you can get when it comes to heat problems. You may need to put the Amiga on feets, and surely you'll need to leave the trapdoor open.
All this will reduce heat-relted probs, but it won't make them go away...
The 060 on the other side should just work without any probs and will give you much more speed for everday use and whload compared to the lousy 040.
Diplay speed will offcourse be slower, but you will be saved from switching everytime you start a game.
Dunno how much difference their is in price for you, but IMO a PPC would just be overkill for what ou plan.
