Can anyone tell me what the name is of the following game description and if you can still buy it from anywhere?!! And what format I could get it on?
Right. It was an Amiga 500 game, the Amiga 500 and game with many others we regrettably sold. I am kicking myself now!! It had 2 characters whose names were (I think!) Bubby & Billy. They both started each level at the bottom right and left hand corner of the screen (one at each side!) and travelled from level to level via their umbrellas, which carried them through the air.
They were cutesy chubby little guys, and I think one had a green umbrela and the other a blue one, but whatever, they were different colours!
They also had to use these umbrellas to catch balls that fell down from specific points of the level, that contained a rain drop or a flame or a lightening strike or a star etc etc. These would spin on top of the umbrella, and you could throw them at baddies. Once you had collected about 5, it would become a giant ball spinning on your umbrella and you could throw it as a kind of super attack.
The baddies where all sorts of different things; the one I remeber best are the giant penguins but thats about it.
Once you had killed a baddie, it would change into a piece of food for you to eat, and at the end of each level, there would be one giant chocolate cake and some smaller ones for you to collect as bonus points.
The word rainbow springs to mind but I could be completely wrong!!
If anyone could give me the title of this game, has one they are willing to sell or knows where I can buy one and what platform it is on, could they please email me at Sarah7_l_b@hotmail.com, I would really really appreciate it.

Rainbow islands or Bubble Bobble?
-
Well, it sounds pretty much like Rainbow Islands to me, all except for the umbrellas :-? I don't remember umbrellas, just jumping up through the level using rainbows to turn bad guys into food. Anyways, if that's it, well, it's the sequel to Bubble Bobble, Rainbow Islands, here's a link, see if it's it.
Rainbow Islands (http://hol.abime.net/1191)
In fact, having a look at it, maybe it is Bubble Bobble, and not the sequel, Rainbow Islands (I have never played Bubble Bobble, alright :-o, I know, it's a crime and I'll remedy it now :-( :lol: )
Check this one out too.

@ Dr. Bongo
Yeah, you're probably right, it certainly looks like it, and the names are pretty close. :lol: Guess it's the second sequel then, not the original or the sequel :-D

@SarahLB
Its PARASOL STARS..........which is basically Bubble Bobble part III.........I believe these 2 little Dinosaurs transform into the 2 kids you see in Parasol Stars.I think they were originally boys that were turned into dinosaurs, and at the end of Bubble Bobble you get turned back into boys which then goes to the Sequel Rainbow Islands......and then Parasol Stars (rainbow Islands 2)
If you like these games.you should also try:
Rodland (Amiga)
Bubble Bobble (C=64, and Amiga) The C=64 is ten times better!
New Zealand Story (Amiga)
Super Methane Bros (Amiga 1200 AGA required)
Some if not all these games are FREE on Back2theRoots.org

If you have a Harddrive....get the WHDLoad versions! they will load from Harddrive!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!
Thanks all, you've jogged my memory somewhat because it WAS Parasol Stars!
Now my next question is (heh heh!):
DOES ANYBODY OUT THERE KNOW WHERE I CAN BUY A NEW AMIGA 500, PREFERABLY FROM A UK WEBSITE SO I DON'T HAVE CUSTOMS CHARGES TO PAY FROM OVERSEAS?!!
I have looked on ebay but a lot of the sellers are 'not sure' how well their's works, which translates to meaning knackered!!!
I could also do with a site from which I could purchase 'Parasol Stars' for Amiga 500, as I don't have a game boy and we want to go proper retro!
If anyone out there has these items to sell, they can either reply to this post or email me at Sarah7_l_b@hotmail.com
Thanks once again to everyone's help with the previous question; ta, much appreciated!

@Sarah:
Don't know about a new A500 but, depending on where youare in the UK,
you should be able to pick one up 2nd hand.
Here in Glasgow, one of the biggest games shops in town has an A500 in
the window, along with a SNES, Megadrive, etc. (AT least it did last
week.)

Just a correction that Parasol Stars was never (officially) released in the Arcade, or for the Megadrive or SNES. It was only available on the C64, Amiga, ST, TG16/PC Engine, Gameboy, and NES.
