Post by: ChaosLord on March 24, 2005, 05:38:41 AM
There is a German magazine called Amiga Future.

I was told that in around July of 2004 they had a 1 page review of an Aminet game that I coded called
Total Chaos: Battle at the Frontier of Time

Is this really true?

Does anyone have the magazine who can check?

I wanna see the review please please please please!!!!!

According to their homepage (http://www.amigafuture.de/heft/af49.php) they tested "TotalChaosAGAv5". Is this what you mean ?

You can still order (http://www.apc-tcp.de/shop/shop-unten-af1.php) the issue.

Or you send a mail to Andreas Magerl, perhaps he sends you a scan of the test.

Bye,
Thomas

Hello Thomas,  allow me to introduce myself.
I am ChaosLord, a professional software engineer who codes programs for AmigaOS,
i.e. I have no income and no accumulated wealth.

You don't think he'll get mad at me?

Hey cool!

Say, I don't suppose that review is in English?
Unfortunatly, I don't read German.
Does anyone know if there is an online version?
I could translate that.

I'd give my left hemisphere to be bi-lingual! (grin)

Thanks.

Cos I am bilingual :)

Excellent!
Now all we have to do is get hold of that review.

Say, if you are bi-lingual, does that mean you have half a brain? (grin)

Boy, I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous, or would that be Amigadexterous?

No, you must see it the other way round:
One Brain - One Language
    X     - Two Language

Thats Mathematics 2nd Lesson or something :-D

Ah I didn't introduce myself:
*bowing*
War Chicken, GFX and Sound-Mage

Did you know I helped make, or made 6 of the included 'pd' games?

I dont know how amiga future does it,
but in all amiga magz ive bought,
they just -include- the pd games on the cd
and dont say anything about them.

If there was a review of TC,
then I guess they would have put it in the reviews box on
http://www.amigafuture.de/heft/af49.php

Hiya WC,

Ahhh, so you're saying you have not one, but TWO brains?
One for English and the other for.....?

Or one for language and one for math? (I could use a seperate one for math myself!)

I figured you for one of the Chaos crew! (grin)

HAS anyone got hold of the review yet? Or has anyone requested a copy of the scan/test?

I'd be very interested.

The idea came from Robin Schmidt, a Deutschlander living in Deutschland.

He probably just got hit by a Hallucination spell. :-D

One of the things he said was that there was a screenshot of the game in the magazine.

@AndreasM: Is there a screenshot of the game in the magazine stating that it is on the coverCD?

James,

I'd image that they have perhaps in the past reviewed it?
(can we check on that?)
Or, I'm sure that they will get around to reviewing it in the "Future". wink wink.
It sounds like an interesting magazine to me.

Dear Mr. Magerl:

Today I had the pleasure of visiting your website. WOW!
You have one of the best Amiga websites ever!

Since you are the Supreme Imperial Commander of a vast Amiga publishing empire and since the whole point of Total Chaos is to honor all great Amiga Heroes would it be ok if I added either an Andreas Magerl Legendary Hero character to the game?  or a Magerl the Mighty?  Or a Magic spell such as Magerl's Magic Web or The Gauntlets of Andreas or somesuch?

Some other famous Amigans already have magic spells in the game, in case u didn't know that. :-)

Andreas,

Oh, I'm sorry.
Which language should I use?
I'd really like to test this translator.
Thanks.
