Title: Ram Disk Question!
Post by: MikeB on March 03, 2003, 05:29:05 PM
Is there anyway to configure the Ram disk automatically on OS3.9 to show all hidden drawers without doing A + key or show all??

This the method I use:
Open up Ram Disk and set all the options you want (ie window size, show all icons etc) and then select the menu Window->Snapshot All option

start a shell and type
copy ram:disk.info envarc:sys/def_ram.info

then add a line to your s:user-startup
copy envarc:sys/def_ram.info to ram:disk.info

and it should work.
I'm typing this at work and don't have my miggy to hand so I might have made a mistake. Please tell me if it doesn't work.

That sounds about right.  I've had problems with RAM's disk.info before, but doing it this way works.

Well remembered Croyzers :-)

Thank you. You could use the MakeLink Soft command but I have never got this to work under AmigaOs. At least this way, you can change the ram disk icon aswell and have it snapshotted on different locations on the WB screen.

I have this in my user-startup

C:Makelink RAM:disk.info ENVARC:SYS/def_RAM.info soft

And it works

Using AmigaOS3.9 BB2

makelink 45.0 (24/12/00)
