I always get a kick out of this. For the third time (http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?mode=viewtopic&topic_id=11189&forum=14&start=80&viewmode=flat&order=0#149424) in 2 days I have been accused of having ties to Genesi, by a Hyperion employee.

What is the point in dragging an argument from one website to another ? Self promotion ?
Actually what do you do for a living ? It seems you spend a HUGE amount of time haunting forums and spouting opinions ...
-
Hehe.. Well, Red has been known as a good moderator here... And runs a Amiga shop (tho only for 1 more week ?)
Anyway, I guess he just wanted to make sure he got 7000 posts... ;-)
Sorry to see you leave red.. Seems a lot has happened to you the past few months..
Good luck, I may drop in on your to be C1 forum.. (Yes, should post this on the other threa, but this one seems more fun to get off topic...
-
I certainly agree there seems to be some misunderstanding on Hyperion's
part regarding some of your comments, but starting a new thread seems
counter-productive to defending your point. For the most part, I understand
your positions and opinions that you have stated recently, but honestly
I can't see this thread producing any positive results for either side of the
argument.

Not sure what is what, but im just some 19yr old kid who likes Amiga....
So I wouldnt know why exactly why anyone attacks eachother.....
Hah, if you like one side, then just stick to it. :-D
I do feel sorry that they keep getting you for Genesi, but maybe they don't have anything better to do? :-)
-
What is the point in dragging an argument from one website to another ?
Because when you see something that you think your friends might like, you tell them. Red has many friends on Amiga.org.
-
Surely you'd be bluerumloa if you were CEO of Genesi?
-
I am jealous my sense of humor didn't think of that first!
:lol:

Ahhh After so many years I finally got it :-D

What do you guys think of my new signature by the way, does anyone knows where it's inspired? 8-)

An Easter Egg put into KS1.2(?) by the HiToro team.
-
@JJ
I always thought it was some reference to the movie "The Shining"? Oh well....
I don't know any Hyperion guys but I've dealt with Red for a bunch of stuff and can vouch for him. He's a quality vendor, very responsive to questions and ALWAYS delivers. Too bad he's in the minority on that one in this little Amiga market.
I, for one, shall miss the help, the humour, the good stuff at reasonable $$...say it ain't so Red!

Stop {bleep}ing. (http://www.amiga.org/images/subject/icon8.gif)
Now I get the idea why Wayne's so pissed from time to time..

But then again we're talking about the spiritual father of our famous ASCII Fiend! :lol:

Well, hopefully the follow-up from Garry at aw.net will help
settle this bandwidth eating frenzy that both boards have been
on.

@Sparky,
Ummm. if you knew Jim as most of us do, you'd know how silly the original (and your) statement is, but I digress.

Well, it's because trolling and accusing you of having ties to Individual computers doesn't work.... no one hates THEM. ;-)
-
Say what you will about Genesi, the fact is they are moving forward at
a awesome pace, getting things done and making a great product in
spite of all the backlash they get. I cant say the same about Amiga at
all.
-
@Sparky
Just some nit picking on an annoyed day I think.
Like anyone here has never been guilty.
I've lost count personally 8-)
It seems you spend a HUGE amount of time haunting forums and spouting opinions ...
pfsfffft.... what's the point of a forum then?

Acill you, red and your kind helped totaly kill the Peg market. Your actions here continues to hurt it.
why don't you people get it. Attack's don't help your cuase it only diminishes it.
Say something like MorphOS is going on or something positive you red and other alway's have to add an attack or a negative aside.
It's downright ugly.
Also so blatantly untrue it makes everything else you say be untrustworthy.

So, they'll be one upping Amiga, Inc. by making good on all that back pay they owe former employees?

Sorry Redrumloa, but this it totally childish.

So it had nothing to do with the fact that BB was a lying sack of crap who screwed over so many people that it isn't even funny? Noooo no its a one time Amiga dealer that did it! Burn the heretic! Of course, how could I have been sooo misled over this, BB is the shining saviour of the Amiga community, and the evil Red put the scuppers on the whole deal...
BTW, for anyone who has an IQ below 80, that last half is called SARCASM..
As for being untrustworthy, I would say this of Red: His and my politics may be as far apart as we are in real life, but I trust him to tell the truth as he sees it, I would also trust him with my money... If I had any :-D
The fact is that niether BB nore for that matter BM could run a Pi$$up in a brewery with any real chance of success or reliability.
As Wayne put it so wonderfully, the Choice between Genesi and Amiga.inc, Buck and Mcewen (sp?) is the choice between the corrupt and the incompitant. There are two people who can be fingered for the current round of crap this community face and those two are it.
Trolls from either side of the debate just batter each other and the users, they have no bearing on the companies themeselves.
-
@Red
Grow up. Stop attacking and speaking about things you don't know.

As I see it, it's either easier for them to discredit your viewpoint by "labeling" you one way or the other, or they really just don't know any better.
But TBH man I decided long ago that there were so many pr!cks, weirdos, and scams on both sides of the red/blue "fence" that I really didn't want to be assosiated with it at all (and that's not to say there aren't good people involved with both projects)...the demoscene, amiga.org and "the classics" will always be cool in my book...but for myself, that's my opinion of it and where I draw the line...and my advice is not to waste any thought or effort over what those people do or say...take it FWIW

It is a pretty lousy practice to drag this to a completely different web site. I've some something like that before and felt an idiot afterwards, and apologized for that, I hope you do the same.
If you have something to add to this, you should have done so exclusively on that thread, or to me personally.
For your books, I am not an employee of Hyperion. I never was employed by Hyperion. I am doing contract work for them.
Not that this would have any impact. As you said yourself, everybody is entitled to his own opinion. My opinion about you has just sunk to a very low level.
I sincerely hope that Wayne deletes this thread. Some idiot will probably come up with the old "censorship" again, but this is a very lousy practice.
It was *you* that labelled OS 4 as dead on this site and on AmigaWorld.net, you where asked to stop this, and this cheap retaliation by dragging it here only shows your maturity.
I also didn't claim you had anything to do with Genesi, I just said I didn't think I would mistake you for someone else.
-
As I see it, it's either easier for them to discredit your viewpoint by "labeling" you one way or the other, or they really just don't know any better.
The usual crap. One side is allowed to label our project as "dead", but the other side is a weirdo or "pr!ck" if he does the same. The other side may drag this to a different forum, which is a lowly practice to begin with, but the other's still are the idiots.
And to make things a bit more interesting, it was a "Hyperion Employee" so as to make sure that the blame falls on Hyperion as well as on my personally.
-
I certainly agree there seems to be some misunderstanding on Hyperion's

English is certainly not my native language, but I don't have trouble understanding the sentence "AmigaOS is dead".
-
Ummm. if you knew Jim as most of us do, you'd know how silly the original (and your) statement is, but I digress.
So you actually condone this thread?
I rest my case, please delete my account. The fact that it is still there is enough for me not to want to have anything to do with this site anymore.
-
One side is allowed to label our project as "dead"
Yes very pathetic. People on "that" site are happy to see OS4 die.
"When the thread about "MOS death" was hitting AW.net the 99% of the users were sad. Now that false "OS4 is death" (without a clue)... and people are happy! Yeah! Keep rocking."
-
project
Exactly. A Project. If it works, Great! If not, people had a good go, and thats what counts. Lets not let all this political bull$hit ruin things at this stage, the miggy needs all the help it can get :-D
-
"When the thread about "MOS death" was hitting AW.net the 99% of the users were sad. Now that false "OS4 is death" (without a clue)... and people are happy! Yeah! Keep rocking."
Hm ? People were happy ? Looked more to me that Red is leaving because he lost all hope (sort off).. Certainly nobody here expressed happiness..
Whatever Red said, about OS4 being death, I'm afraid everybody is jumping to high for that "statement".
Red just had enough, enough of this so called community..
I'm glad Gary posted the clarification.. Is there allready a dedicated thread about that on amiga.org ?
How about it, let's forget al this crap, and discuss something nice, and try, try not to read to much into things.
-
@seer
I'm referring to the site in which Rogue and other read "OS4 is death". Not amiga.org

Hmmm....I had some sort of response in mind, but simply put, you either misunderstood my post, didn't fully read it, or took it far, far away from its original context. (I also suggest you reread Wayne's post, looks like you didn't fully get that one either.)
I don't own a Pegasos or A1...so I'm afraid the "sides" card doesn't work here.
-

Afaik, Rogue was reffering to this (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=14809)
At any rate, drop the battle axes.. The war is over, nobody won.
Let's say it this way; we just lost another Amiga dealer.. A pretty good one as well. Does that make any of those still wanting to pick up the blue vs red fight happy ? Ah, I suppose it does..
Rule nr 1, if you want a ongoing argument to stop; stop arguing (sp?)..
-
@red,
I know you're frustrated. Don't blame you because I feel the exact same way. Perhaps it was, in fact, a faux pax to bring the fight over, but I understand your initial reasons for doing so.
@rogue,
You really, really need to chill with the ultimatums and realize that these people are -- in fact -- either customers or more importantly, potential customers. While I don't necessarily think it was appropriate to transplant a war in a thread, Red being called a Genesi supporter is pretty damned stupid.
That being said, you need to face the fact that every single one of us has a right to be extraordinarily frustrated with the progress or lack thereof with OS4.
It's been five years of the same vague, non-committal "lies" and dialog from the same exact company (regardless of who they changed their name to/from) and to be frank, people are getting tired of getting smoke blown up their bums. If you can't handle the fact that people have different opinions, then perhaps you have strayed a bit too far from the holy worship grounds where your arse is kissed and your godliness secured on a daily basis.
Whether you like us or not is irrelevant. Whether you like the whining and {bleep}ing or not is irrelevant. Your job is not to tell us how to feel or to change the way we react to yet another instance of vague comments and promises from TPTB. Your job is to first finish the damned OS, then to work to overcome the mountain-sized obstacles that have been lobbed in your way (where the community is concerned) by 5 years of complete mismanagement by Amiga Inc and even Hyperion.
While I understand both Red's, and your frustration, both of you have acted a little outside the box and I guaran-damn-tee you that if you stick to job #1 and get the damned OS finished, the job of winning back the community is going to get a hell of a lot easier.
-

Rogue, practice what you preach for a change.
As for Hyperion OS4, when is 4.1 due to be released or are you all just going to jump to 4.5 release? There is another schedule release of your OS, isn't there before Hyperion releases OS5? :-?
Dammy
-
Ah, Ikir, you jumped into the discussion too? Hello? Did you see any of us being happy during the Hare interview (before he clarified)? Don't pull words out of your arse please.
-
This is really getting us nowhere and is going into the whole insult route. If no one objects, I'm going to simply lock the thread now.
