Title: help with amiga 4000 and hardrive

i just got me amiga 4000 , but i does not have a floppy disk.
ant it has os 3.0 ,
so just got a old hardrive and install os 3.1 using uae , after install os 3.1 does not boot  , the only way tu boot is if i use worbench disk in uae .
but when i use the original hd in uae it does boot ??
what thing is wrong what do i have to do to boot with the new hd after installl 3.1 in uae ??
do i have so sellec a partition or what thank for your time

In HDToolbox in the "partition drive" dialogue, select your Workbench partition, enable "advanced options", check "bootable" and select a boot priority of 1. This should make it boot even if another HDD is connected, too. You can do it now on the installed drive, it will not destroy the data.
