Title: Looking for Rev 2.31 or 2.4 Z3 Fastlane
Post by: jlariv8957 on March 16, 2005, 08:16:42 PM
Hi,

I'm looking for a Rev 2.3 or 2.4 Fastlane Z3 because i already have a Rev 2.2 whitch is running fine and i got some very rare 16MB 8/9bit SIMMs whitch are only usable with newer revs of the card.

So if anyone know where i can buy it or exchange it (with some money or RAM for instance), i'll be pleased !

Thanks.

If anybody has two, I'd like one too. Same situation.

You don`t just require a newer revision but a special replacement set of two programmable EPLD chips. Absolute no Fastlane ever shiped with those chips, you could only get them as an upgrade. Since 16MB SIMMs were quite expensive back then only a few of those upgrade kits were shiped.
It is belived that the number of those "golden" Fastlanes is about 10-20 worldwide.
Effectively your only chance of getting one if buing it from someone who doesn`t know what it is, as all those who know they have an 256MB Fastlane will never sell it.

P.S. I have been searching for about 5 years now and endet up with a DKB3128 instead.
