It looks like you have to pull a 2.5 inch IDE cable from the A1200 controller to the lone 2.5 inch IDE slot on the lower part of the bus board.
You then have an optional 2.5 IDE port as well as the 3.5 inch ports.

hmmm... sound logical.
My problems are
a) what the ^&** is the 2nd 2.5 port for? - I quess u answered this :)
b) I can see the "1" cable numbering in the slots but which side of the cable is the "1" (I mean is "1" the red cable, like pc's ?)

Hello
its an IdeFix97 4 way adapter for A1200.
If you want to use even the second channel (Port1), you must install the IdeFix97 software (on PowerComputing site there is even a free registration details)
Otherwise if you use only the Primary (Port0-both 2.5" and 3.5") you will no need IdeFix97 software installed.
As already said by filson, the "Input" 44 pins connector, must to be connected with a short 44 pins flat cable, to the A1200 mobo.
Bye :-)
EDIT-yep . . . red wire is n.1

Yes, 1 indicates the first pin on the slot or the red wire on a IDE cable.
Yes, you have the option to use either a 2.5 inch drive on the second 2.5 slot OR a 3.5 inch drive.
First slot is 3.5 inch only.
You might be strapped down by the "low" transfer speeds of the A1200 onboard IDE controller, so dont expect the wild thing :)
Nice little board, tho.
