Title: Groningers up for a pint?
Post by: odin on March 11, 2005, 12:17:50 AM
A long time ago I already concluded there are quite a few people from Groningen here, how about we all get together for a pint sometime and talk Amiga? :-)

good idea, I suggest at my home, I got a couple of nice Amiga's, like a neat CDTV (:-P), so we can play against each other some amiga games :-)
(still need to solder a four player adapter :-/)

Absolutely. It's a fantastic idea.

I was thinking about maybe meeting up for a beer, and then going to someone's house to play Amiga games!

Manchester: A night on a boat and an even longer drive!

Actually a good mate of mine now lives in Maastricht with his good lady. I need to see about paying them a visit at some point.

Whether you're in The Hague or Amsterdam, it'll be very hard to find just one clear-thinking person over there, and if you find one it's usually an emigrated Groninger :-P

Tis *quite* a bit chavvy nowadays to be a 'gabbertje' in nl (or well, since 1995 or so, that is..)
I've been a gabbertje (well, a bit unconventional one) too, back when it was a rather uncommon music :-)

@Speelgoedmannetje:

I was never "dressing" like a gabber-head past the age of...17 I think. Afterwards, I was more normal looking, but of course still to this day I listen to gabber and hardcore techno. I like it due to its simplicity, yet power and energy. It's definitely not mainstream music by ANY means, except maybe in Holland, as you guys over there are hardcore pioneers. :-)

I guess I was kinda the same as you, x56h34 :-)
But nowadays, Hardcore has been copied over and over and over again with mindnumbing cliche's. I quitted it at the age of 16 or 17 when I had to reckognise that the music was hijacked by neo-nazi's and chavs of the worst kind, and there won't be any good (inspirating, experimental) hardcore anymore. I've heard it all, twas good music to survive puberty, but that's it. Got other music nowadays.

Excuses excuses, eh?
No one's gonna live there voluntarily and has no tendencies towards limbo-ism!
;-)

@Speelgoedmannetje:

I agree. The "new stuff" simply doesn't have the same impact on me as it did during the "early days", however there's still lots of old-school gold that I can listen to over and over, with the addition of an occassional good new track.

@Speelgoedmannetje

I still am, but lost my PW some time ago and did not bother to renew it, as I am mostly to be found on AW.net, due to me having a µA1 since December 2004, which now runs OS4.1.

Anyway, I would not mind actng according to this thread's title.

And I'm too busy finishing my study.
