Title: AGA and Voodoo5
Post by: caliban_6 on March 09, 2005, 04:30:38 AM
Alright,

I bought an A4000D and the Mediator Tower from Elbox.  I also acquired a Voodoo 5500.  Will I have any issues with AGA or do I still need a scandoubler/flickerfixer?

Thanks,

Jeremy

@caliban_6

You'll still need a scandoubler (or a monitor that will sync to 15Khz).  The voodoo card will only work as a sort of "bypass" to the aga modes.  Any software you run, that cannot be screen promoted, will still have to be displayed through the tv out.

Theres a clever trick you can do with regards to the mediator and a TV Card.  If you plug the output directly into your tv card you can view it in a window on workbench.

Hops this helps.

On the A4000 it's not as clever as it doesn't have RF output such as the A1200, sure you can use a 520 but it takes up alot of space behind the machine. Also only some games started from HD will work with this, any that start of floppy is not gonna work with the 520->TVcard.
