Title: Laptop CD-R on an Amiga ?

Does anyone knows how can I connect a laptop optical drive to an A600/1200 ??  any help needed! like pinout of the drive place to get the drive connector or even the whole adaptor..

Your probably better off getting a 44>40 pin ide cable adaptor and using a standard ide cd-rom drive. It will be a lot easier and cheaper too.

This user's mod is based on another similar mod. Though in that one the CD tray came out the side and not the back.

The slim optical drives don't have the pin header at the back that 2.5" hds have.

You need to buy a suitable adapter to be able to connect it.

I have actually used a slimline CD-RW, through a laptop to normal IDE converter, through an IDE to SCSI converter, through the blizzard 1260 SCSI kit. It worked great ;-)

May have to try this if my MediaVision Reno doesnt quit making click/whine noises
