Hi everyone, i'm James from the UK and i'm about to start getting my Amiga 1200 up and running with next to no experience with them.

I'll start posting some newbie questions in appropriate sections soon :)

Welcome to Amiga.org, I joined as a newbie about 18 months ago, and I still have loads to learn, so good luck! Why not try coming onto the IRC for a live webchat also?

What part of the UK?  Birmingham?  Tear and Dale?

I have some distant relatives there and once saw a possible
relative named James post in one of the British Amiga
magazines.  It was one that usually came with a CDROM.

I also run Linux on my Gateway 500.

If I can get the hard drives to spin up, I sometimes run my
Amiga 2000HD.
