A very friendly guy in Spain bought a brandnew unused Prometheus (from Redrumloa of course) together with a working Voodoo5 pci card from me. The Prom is recognized in Early Startup but when he runs FindCard ...
Quote : "Today i have the prometheus and the rest for the packet but i can't turn on prometheus. I see that is needed 040 , and i put a 3640 , so i think is the same configuration as you. The autoconfig sees the board ok
but when i want to see the atach pci devices it don't runs .
and the picasso96 script you send me , for me is broken."
The script he means was on the CDrom that came with the Prometheus ...
What advice can I give ??? :-?

Nobody ??? :-o

Not enough information. He needs to install Prom1.5 first, then run PRMSCAN. I'm not sure what Findcard is, I guess you mean PRMSCAN? I'd have to guess he didn't install the Prometheus software yet.

And that as a result? It was possible to see the board? A similar problem, people soldered Prometheus is recognized in Early Startup, but don't see any board.. No one knows what this might be?

either ask around in international section of a1k.org (m boehmer might see it, he has made some firmware improvements afair) or maybe eab, or on ppa.pl where krashan himself might see the post. it was his project after all.

I think this is normal to not to see the cards in early startup , like mediator the cards are not found until a pci lib is up and running under workbench? i could be wrong since i have never used a promethius.

the busboard itself should be visible, but not the pci boards..
