Hi all,
I used to browse the internet correctly with an X-Surf. I recently bought a mediator 4000 Di in which I've plugged in a Voodoo3 and a Fastethernet card. I use Genesis and Aweb and Ibrowse sometimes. I changed the genesisprefs in order to use the PCI NIC, and since then I can read pages from the net, but it seems that everytime that I have to send data (eg I fill a form) it does not work.
Does it mean I have to change the SANA config? In what way?
Also, the CD that came with the mediator did have Picasso96 and Cybergraphx on it, but I have to clue of how to get either of them up and running. Currently, in the Screenmode prefs all modes appear with a CGX suffix, but I only see the AGA modes, I don't see the Voodoo modes. CGX-prefs program does not work at all. When I try to start it there is a bit of harddisk activity, and then nothing.
What am I supposed to do?
I believe that the jumpers on the mediator are correctly set. For your information, the setup includes (besides the mentioned) a CSPPC, a highway USB card, and an eFlash 4000. OS is 3.9 BB2. HD is 68-pin SCSI connected via the CS, CD-RW is IDE, and there is an internal USB card reader.
Help greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

The Piccaso96 software is the software needed for Voodoo cards, and the CyberGraphX software is used for Virge cards.
Since you are using a Voodoo card, then you obviously have to install Picasso96. On the MMCD I believe you can find a ReadMe file that descripes how to get the Voodoo card running; read it, and it will be dead simply for you.
As for the ethernet card, there is a difference. The X-Surf card needs a config file placed in ENVARC:SANA2, the PIC ethernet cards doesn't need this. However, it might be nice to have such a config file for the PCI ethernet cards, since my ethernet bridge has to be activated twice when using a PCI ethernet card, and the X-Surf only once.

Hi,
Thanks for the advice. I have followed the instructions, ran the P96 install twice as per readme file, etc. All seems ok, but when I try to open Picasso96Mode, the HD led blinks for a moment, and then nothing.
What could be wrong?

Hmm, don't know exactly. Does the program not even start up? If you have installed the CyberGraphX software and haven't uninstalled it, this might be the problem.
Try installing the Mediator software and Picasso96 software on a fresh install of OS3.9; it should get it working.

I have the same problem with a1200 Grex ,voodoo3 and CGX4...
The pciscan detects my vodoo but when I try to open CGXmode nothing happens when I change the setup back to Bvision the CGX mode starting up normaly. I have run snoopdos to see what happening but everything seems ok.

@StormLord
Mediator and G-Rex isn't the same, and the same goes for CyberGraphX and Picasso96. Make sure you have the gtlayout.library installed in libs, otherwise CGXMode will not start. At least that is what I have experienced....

I don't mean the same about hardware I mean the same about the software issue.
I have gtlayout installed anyways it working when I pull out the grex and plugin the bvision the prob is when I have the voodoo then cgxmode doesnot open. It smells software problem with CGX...

@StormLord
Well, the same advice goes for you; try to install a fresh OS and try installing the CyberGraphX software again. IMHO it is not a good idea to install several RTG graphics boards on the same boot partition.
BTW. since the problems your are having is related to a different graphics software system, then a solution for the Picasso96 issue most likely isn't suitable for the CybeGraphX issue.

Hi,
IT WORKS! IT WOOOORRKKSSS!!!
Thanks. I just removed from DEVS:Monitors all CGX drivers, and then Picasso96 started to work. The P96Mode worked eversince too.
Regarding the internet, I removed all SANA2 info from the GenesisPrefs, and it all works again!!!
You're all great. Now I am posting at this forum on the Amiga at 800x600 24bit over 2Mbit ADSL. WOW!
