So far the method I have been using is to select the shift button as the mouse look button and then wedging it down with a book so that mouse look is permanently on. Is there a less rudimentary way of doing this? I prefer to use the mouse to look and the arrow keys to move/sidestep rather than the default settings.

+mlook
(in console, or your startup script)

Don't know if this applies to the Amiga version, but bring up the console and type "+mlook 1" without the quotes to enable mouse look permanently.
To activate it each time you load up Quake, you can insert it into one of the ini files for the game; sorry I can't be more specific.

quake68k... I wonder how you manage to play it, its sh!tty speed is awfull!

@keropi
Actually, Quake68k is a lot faster than Clickboom's original version on the 68040/060 processors. The fastest, and best looking Quake executable imho is Blitzquake68k (though you need a Voodoo card to run it).

really? I must download then!

Yes +mlook
Make a txt file with it called autoexec.cfg, put it in your mod drawer (es ID1 for original Quake). I also use Quake1 with wheel to scroll weapons as in modern fps.

The speed seems okay to me. Mind you I am using RTG, not AGA.

@Argus
Where can I find this Blitzquake68k? did I search on google and aminet without any luck.
Also been playing Quake in AGa mode (yuck), getting the same speed as in Heretic.
