so guys, long time no post, whats up on planet amiga?, I've been up to alot of stuff!, been working for a handful of companies doing web design and some corpy packs, logos, etc etc. I'm sick of the graphics field I decided so I toyed with the idea for a while of going to school to study Nursing, but me a nurse? get real... so I decided on getting my TESL cert and am scouting a school to teach at in 06 over in China (this oughta be an adventure), got a handful I'm seriousely looking at. On the personal front I quit cigarettes, booze, and drugs, I dropped a huge amount of weight and I'm in the best shape of my life. Just finished up planning on a trip to Costa Rica this June I'm taking. Life is good
how have you guys been? :-D
EDIT: btw I'm now a card carrying Libertarian, not a Repub

Hey what's wrong with nursing? :lol: If I had to do it all over again, I'd be in like Flynn! Excellent job security, decent pay, etc, hell it's what computers were supposed to be.
Just stay away from computers! ;-)

For my own part, since you last visited, my wife has given birth to my son, I've blown up at least one computer, built up the network to a pretty good level. Am still doing my writing, got broke into earlier this year...
Built some good friendships with Karlos and Cecilia too :-)
Oh and I'm still rubbish at QuakeWorld, just ask ajk ;-)

Skimped on the details? what details?
I ditched A.org for various reasons, none of which have to do with me disliking this site , I told that to redrumloa on a messenger app I think. I've ditched a bunch of my past vices. I got into a more healthy lifestyle (nutrition, lifting, cardio, etc) and I've decided on a strange new course for myself ;) not much else to say. I'm pretty much not into the computer at all as a hobby anymore, I only have one system now (P4 setup), and although I still spend way to much time on it, my sleep pattern now flows with the sun and not the moon. What other details? well I'll plead the fifth on questions about amiga companies in the intrest of keeping the peace, Suffice to say I harbor no ill will toward any amiga (genre) related individuals or their respective companies.
Hmm what else to say?, I've just recently gotten contact lenses and they rule :D
Great to hear you've got a family going on , sorry to hear you got burgled and blew up a comp.

Well the burglary was a pita, but the computer dying was far too impressive for me to be too angry about - getting one of the largest rooms in the masonette completely filled with smoke in the matter of seconds was quite astounding, and one hell of a way to bow out of service. :-D

Glad to hear you're doing well...positive momentum is always a good thing, keeps us young and healthy.
As for me, I've also quit the sticks (still smoke the occasional cigar tho), and hopefully moving to the northern Cali area pending a job I'm trying to setup. Looking forward to sky out of here and get into a different line of work, something a little less demanding so I can finally finish school. As for planet amiga, aside from visiting this site, I check out WinUAE and AROS on occasion...and that's about it.
Also bought a streetbike at the end of last summer, and was having a blast up until it snowed...but I'm looking forward to spring and the return of nice weather, been planning a few big rides both with family/friends and solo. First Seattle to visit some folks (also hitting Vancouver and anything else interesting along the way), then later in the year we plan to cruise through Arizona, parts of New Mexico and who knows maybe even Mexico. I'm _really_ looking forward to riding through the desert, it's something I've been dreaming of (literally) for years.

Things here at A.org are about the same. Some new faces, lots of old faces and all the usual grumbles from all the usual suspects. :-)
Btw, congrats on your libertarian membership, I never really thought of you as a true republican anyway.

Ah good to hear from your Glaucus, how have you been doing?
I certainly do think that staying away from this god forsaken community was healthy, in one sense I feel like a masochist for even posting here again (no I'm not serious, just half serious), but here I am ;)
Times change, but net communities seem to stay the same :D old habits die hard.
I've been a supporter of the libertarians for a long time, but well, not to slag on repubs, but lets just say I voted for Kerry and felt sad when he lost (even though, realistically, would anything major be different?), that says something coming from someone suchas myself, and I know many more like me in this state (I think we had the highest repub registered voting for kerry of any state in the country? I'm not sure), oh well... the party I'm a card carrier for now might never win a national election but their values and ideas reflect my own more or less and that makes them worth supporting from my perspective.

He was banned (and again, and again etc) and was harassing other forums too. After being banned from most of the Amiga boards I presume he got bored with Amigans and started being an arse on Atari forums :-D. After that...no idea. Perhaps he comitted suicide and made the world that tad bit better?

actually, meers, the real news these days is that Karlos and I (and others) have been making some very poor and rude jokes about t-shirts, sheep and our scottish friends.
Plus, you have to get familiar with the new Amiga Org mascot - bloodlines' socks. :-o
yup! I know none of this makes sense, but believe me, it's worth learning about! :lol:

I think he got banned for the usual reasons. On EAB, he used: DoomMaster, RetroGeek and The AmigaGuy for his nicks. I think he used them here as well. Anyway grab some popcorn, and read his posts on Atari forum:

Kenny was "sent to coventry" - at least for a while, I think.
even though several of us reminded him and others that the red vs blue war is over, Kenny sometimes liked to fan the flames and pour salt in the wounds. I'm sure he would disagree with my putting it that way, but the boy sure is like a dog with a bone - he doesn't know when to let GO!
Basically he and Wayne have different ways of looking at things (she says, diplomatically) and during one thread whatever kenny said or suggested was "the last straw". It's not like he actually said anything really horrible, it was just enough already. (In the view of moderators here, anyway). He didn't say anything I thought was bad, but, hey, I have a VERY thick skin. :-P
anyway, he's sort of on vacation - as i like to think of it.
I do like Kenny alot - that Scottish pissed off temper makes me laugh and I'm very familiar with it because of real life friendships (which have lasted some 20 years, I may add). One of the reasons that thread with Kenny's head on Karlos' body in a t-shirt is still so funny is because of Kenny's well known personality.
I do think that as time moves on the wounds will heal and we can once again bust kenny's balls and visa versa. :-D

so, i went looking at other sites for additional info. and I saw kenny telling "his side" of this story. well, after washing my eyes out with soap, I quickly left, hopefully not to return THERE any time soon.

I dont know why (because to say the least me and Kenny never got along) but I do feel bad about that. I hope he comes back, maybe with Doomys personality and his intermeshed and transposed onto the reanimated body of Lenin? unstoppable revolutionary super troll? ;) in any case I hope he comes back.

Yeah, I'd like to see Kenny come back as well. I completely disagreed with his views on Amiga vs MorphOS, but I got along with him pretty well otherwise.
