Have an A3000 which has 2mb chip, 4meg fast ram ,3.1rom which i've installed a Cyberstorm MKII '060 card in but now the computer won't boot.
I just get a black screen without any disk activity at all only my power light is on.
The CS card is installed correctly and level, it is fitted with two 32mb simms (60ns).
Can it be a faulty simm? or am I fried? (my CS is dead)
Haven't changed anything on the motherboard (jumpers) since the manual said I didn't have to change anything if I haven't had another accel. before the CS.
Help & advice is highly appreciated since I really want to get my A3000 going since it's not been used for a long time since it's been my most low spec amiga, want to use this baby as my main amiga computer.

Pull the motherboard fast ram out (all of it) and try again. Make sure you only use 2MB chip ram and memory on the accelerator.
Another thing you could try is remove the ram from the accelerator and leave the 4MB motherboard fast ram as-is, and see if it all works. There were some early CSMKII cards which had bad tolerance if fast ram was also installed on your A3000 or A4000 motherboard.
If the above advices don't work, then it must be due to bad jumper settings on your A3000 motherboard, or perhaps a loose scsi cable, daughter board not plugged in, or similar.

try reseating the daughterboard

I thought you had to chage both clock source jumpers from internal to external??
I'm not pulling my A3000 to bits to find out, but you can't damage anything by trying. I think I had to change them for my CS mk2.

Castellen is right, you need to set the clock jumpers properly and should be using 3.1 roms. Try removing the MkII card and leave the drive tray out of the machine so you can get at everything, see if it boots off the 68030. Then set the clock jumpers according to the MkII manual, it is on the web, plug in the MkII and it should fire right up. I had the same problem on an a4000 till I set the clock jumpers. Make sure you put in the daughtercard even though you leave the drive tray out. Once everything works, put the drive dray back in.

Thanks for all of the quick replys!
Will try these things tomorrow..it's late here and I guess I would mess everyting up if I started fiddling with it now, hehe
which of these jumpers are the ones I should check?
http://www.l8r.net/technical/t-3000-jumpers.shtml
The CS MKII manual just says that I shoould check my A3000 user manual for the jumper setting but in there nothing is said about this issue, lol...the manual dates back to 1990 and thw CS MKII is from 1997

I have/had same exact problem, you should apply my solution
Put A3000 in a plastic box, then place it in the shed next to the lawnmower.
Seemed to cure my A3000 problem ;-)

Had a look on my motherboard and the clockjumpers are set to internal (int).
Have you reseated the CS?
