I dont know if it bit late in the day but is there any chance Amiga OS4.0 have VNC built in?

There are already VNC-Server and Clients for the Amiga, so...

AmiVNC (server) and VVC (client) work great here.

Kind regards selco    http://selco.da.ru

I sospect that it will not be included as Hyperion would not allow anything to add further delay to the release of OS4. Anyway, you may be better served if you were to ask here (http://dspach.free.fr/amiga/avnc/) if he plans to support OS4.
Chances are anyway the current version will work through 68k emulation.

IMHO, it's a very bad idea. First, not everyone needs it so adding it would just be bloat. Second, it's a massive security risk for the unaware user.

Much better if it's just run as an external client.

There will be a new version of the VNC server. Don't ask me more, I don't know. It will be in PPC...

Are there SSH servers/deamons available for the miggy? With tunneling you can make VNC very secure.

If VNC does come with AOS4, my guess is it won't be "built in".  Rather VNC will be in a 'Contributions' drawer as it was in AOS3.9.

VNC - the same as ViNCEd?  What is that thing?  It has spewed meaningless files all over my WB partition which I dare not delete.  It just seems like a shell, but with loads of options.  Can someone shed light?

VNC stands for Virtual Network Computing, which is a set of cross-platform software that allows remote access to your machines desktop, even from within a browser under some configutations.
If you can remember Siamese RTG, its a similar concept but supports more platforms (a bit less integrated and slower too).

ViNCED on the other hand, is as you say, a replacement shell environment. I don't use it myself (I think it comes with 3.9 tho), being a hardened KingCON fan, but from what I gather it's the doggies doodads compared to the normal shell. So maybe you'd be better off keeping it ;-)
